At Seating Inc., we know that it’s good
business to be environmentally responsible! Here are some of the ways that Seating Inc. is committed to the 3 “R”s of Waste Management:
Reduce
- Our commitment to “made in North America” component parts reduces fuel consumption. We purchase
90% of component parts within a 500-mile radius. Combining shipments of incoming raw materials and
outgoing orders further reduces fuel waste.
- Our 15 year and lifetime warranties mean than Seating Inc. chairs last a long time. Durable, long lasting
goods reduce waste in landfill sites.
- Our certified green product line has passed the stringent BIFMA X7.1-2005 Emissions test. These chairs
are certified to release reduced VOC’s into the environment.
- Retooled and updated insulation, electrical, and HVAC systems in our factory have increased energy
efficiency and reduced energy consumption while providing a comfortable and healthy working
environment for our valued employees.
- Seating Inc. seeks component parts and packaging with reduced toxins. Our InstaPak packaging
material contains no CFCs or HFCs, and our many fabric choices have been tested to meet
reduced VOC emissions guidelines.
- An experienced manufacturing crew with a low turnover rate means efficient use of raw materials and
reduced waste due to carelessness and error.
- Our comprehensive, informative, evolving website reduces the need for printed literature.
Reuse
- Our top notch Customer Service, backed up by Seating Inc.’s long term warranties, means our chairs are
good for years of service. If the chair breaks, we send replacement parts. You don’t
have to throw it
away.
- Attractive, colorful slip covers are available to extend the life of your chair.
- We reuse incoming cartons, skids, paper, and packaging materials.
- After re-using our paper, we shred it to make packing material for any parts we have to send out.
- Seating Inc. donates excess inventory to charity.
Recycle
- We recycle bottles, paper, and cans. We also recycle our scrap foam and wood waste.
- Our new literature is printed on 100% post consumer recycled paper.
- Shipping cartons contain recycled fiber and are 100% recyclable. Our Instapak packing
material is
recyclable.
