MAS Certified Chairs - What it means to be Green

MAS Certified Green®

You might have noticed that all of Seating Inc.’s products are MAS Certified Green®. What does this Green Certification mean exactly?

MAS Certified Green® means our products have been rigorously tested, and certified to comply with stringent indoor air quality standards.  For you, this means that buying Seating Inc. chairs is an environmentally friendly and safe purchasing decision.

To get technical for a moment, MAS Certified Green®  also means compliance with the criteria of the ANSI/BIFMA X7.1-2011 (R2021) and e3-2019 Furniture Sustainability Standards and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Standard Method v1.2(2017) when modeled for use in offices and classroom settings. It means we also meet the requirements of LEED v4.1, and the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) EQ C6.1.4 Administrative and Teacher Seating and Classroom Seating for low VOC-emitting products.

Promoting Indoor Air Quality

That’s probably more information than you need. In simple terms it means that our chairs are tested and certified to be safe in promoting indoor air quality, which is a very important thing!

Not only do we operate a sustainable company with our processes around people, product design, environmental considerations and giving back to our community, we are also MAS Certified Green®. Choose Seating Inc. and breathe easy.
